RCC supports responsible feeding as part of long-term colony management. Food alone does not solve overpopulation: cats must also be sterilized, newcomers identified quickly, and colonies monitored over time.
Consistent feeding makes that work possible. Caregivers learn which cats belong, notice an untipped newcomer, recognize a pregnant female, and see when a cat is sick or injured.
The goal isn't simply to feed cats. It's to build healthy, stable, sterilized colonies.

Food for Ferals is a practical logistics program as much as a feeding program. Donated food is shipped to St. Croix, received, stored, divided, and moved out to caregivers supporting managed community-cat colonies.
Reliable food helps caregivers keep cats on a schedule, notice newcomers quickly, and flag illness or injury — all of which makes TNVR and ongoing colony care more effective.
FOOD WHERE PEOPLE NEED IT
WE NEED MORE FOOD-PANTRY LOCATIONS.
Right now, donated cat food is shipped to just two locations on St. Croix and distributed to caregivers from there. That limits who can easily reach the program.
We want to expand Food for Ferals by creating more pickup points across the island, making donated food accessible to more people who are already caring for community cats.
Businesses, veterinary offices, community organizations, churches, or other accessible locations may be able to help simply by receiving and distributing donated cat food.

Our wish lists make it easy to send the foods and supplies we use most often, but donations do not have to match a specific brand or item on the list.
Wet food, dry food, kitten food—whatever comes in, we will share. Every bag, box and case helps a caregiver stretch limited resources and helps keep community cats fed while we work toward full sterilization.

Food for Ferals is part of RCC's larger Distributed Sanctuary model: supporting safe, managed places throughout St. Croix rather than assuming every community cat needs to be removed to a shelter.
